I created Inviato out of my love for travel.
I, and so many friends and acquaintances come back from new places with tips and recommendations only to jot them down and file away somewhere forgotten. My home office is overflowing with boxes of notes, magazine clippings and articles of places that I have collected over the years. Anyone who knows me knows how meticulous I am in the research of my next trip – for me it’s equally as fun as the trip itself. I am thrilled when someone calls requesting information about a location or place so that I can whip out my files and notes.
I have been very fortunate to merge my passion into a career – over 30 years in the luxury travel industry to be exact. From my first job right out of college helping create Cardmember travel programs for American Express (and subsequent management roles in travel for 11 years) to various senior marketing and consulting roles at companies such as Zagat Survey and Leading Hotels of the World to my position today as Director of a non-profit travel foundation, I have gained immeasurable experience and knowledge connecting travelers and special places.
It seemed only natural, then, to do something more useful with my passion and work experience. That is how Inviato was conceived – a simple inspiration to create a vehicle to share unique places with wanderlust travelers who are equally excited about the discovery of the next trip as I am. And what a journey it has been. From my first post in 2009 in Italy to today – 160 hotel reviews and travel experiences later – my mission has never strayed.
Like a child, I have enjoyed watch Inviato grow over the years and transform before my eyes from a humble luxury travel blog to an online destination of expertly curated selection of luxury hotels, resorts and experiences over the globe that provides authentic, candid reviews. I am incredibly grateful for the aid of my wonderful co-editor, Christina Meza-Kim, who helps keep our content fresh and interesting and our recent partnership with Virtuoso luxury travel agency, Classic Travel to bring our readers VIP amenities and perks at the most luxurious hotels in the world. I am even more excited about what is in store in the future as Inviato continues to grow!
